Senior Wirebond Process Engineer
Role Summary
Perform and lead wire bond process development, optimization, documentation, and production support for semiconductor manufacturing at the Melaka site. The role drives process improvements, supports new product ramps, and leads a team of process technicians.
This position focuses on improving yield, efficiency, equipment performance, and process controls for wire bonding operations.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 5 years of relevant experience in wirebond processes.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include production support, process development, and team leadership.
- Support day-to-day manufacturing operations for wire bond processes.
- Develop and implement improved manufacturing methods, procedures, and standardized recipes to improve yield, efficiency, and quality.
- Create and optimize automated wire bond programs and process parameters.
- Document wire bond processes in specifications and work instructions.
- Define applicable wire bond materials and consumables (wire types, capillaries, etc.).
- Define and implement statistical and automated monitoring methods for process control.
- Identify root causes of systematic process or equipment issues and lead corrective actions.
- Plan and execute process startup and experiments to support manufacturing ramps.
- Lead and supervise a team of process technicians.
- Drive projects for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, quality programs, and process automation.
Requirements
Key must-have technical skills and preferred additional qualifications.

Must-have: Minimum 5 years of relevant wirebond process experience; strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control, and process release strategies.

Must-have: Proficiency with data analysis for process control and improvement.

Nice-to-have: Experience with die attach and wire bonding for molded devices; familiarity with KNS and ASM platforms.

Nice-to-have: Experience using statistical analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab, Spotfire, or JMP.

Nice-to-have: Strong verbal and written communication, time management, teamwork, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
