Senior Wirebond Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
Join the manufacturing engineering team to maintain, improve and support wirebond equipment used in semiconductor production. The role focuses on selecting, installing, upgrading and sustaining wirebond tools to meet production targets and equipment reliability goals.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 5 years' relevant experience. The posting specifies at least 5 years as a Wirebond Equipment Engineer with KNS and ASM wirebond equipment maintenance in semiconductor manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Key duties include equipment selection, sustaining engineering, and cross-functional technical support to manufacturing.
- Evaluate, select and procure wirebond equipment for manufacturing needs and cost effectiveness.
- Oversee installation, modification, upgrades and commissioning of manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules and equipment documentation.
- Monitor equipment performance and reliability; analyze failures and implement corrective actions to increase uptime.
- Provide hands-on technical support to equipment repair teams and process engineering.
- Track manufacturer technical notices, upgrades and safety advisories related to equipment.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills and experiences.
- Must have: Minimum 5 years as a Wirebond Equipment Engineer with KNS and ASM wirebond equipment maintenance experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Must have: Hands-on experience operating and maintaining KNS and ASM wire bond machines.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Gold/Cu/PCC wire and bump ball bonding processes.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with downstream equipment (e.g., plasma, die coat) and tool monitoring/interdiction software.
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing practices, cleanroom protocol, and SPC/Spotfire techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across functions, manage time effectively, and operate in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field (Bachelor Degree specified).
