Role Summary

NVIDIA AI seeks a senior VLSI design engineer to lead front-end implementation and automation for high-performance computing platforms used in AI and robotics. The role focuses on RTL-to-gates implementation, developing and maintaining implementation flows, and collaborating with cross-functional hardware and verification teams to meet performance, power, and schedule targets.

Senior β€” 8+ years of design implementation experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include front-end implementation, flow automation, and cross-team problem resolution.

  • Lead front-end implementation: RTL integration, constraints, synthesis, and timing closure.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automation for EDA tool flows (Synopsys and Cadence).
  • Collaborate with IP, logic, physical design, and verification teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Analyze and debug complex timing, performance, and integration problems.
  • Optimize designs for performance, area, and power; support tapeout readiness.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process and tooling improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: 8+ years of front-end design implementation experience.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with Synopsys and Cadence EDA tools and flows.
  • Must-have: Experience building and maintaining implementation/automation flows.
  • Must-have: Strong debugging, problem-solving, and cross-team communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in high-performance computing, AI, or robotics platforms.
  • Nice-to-have: Scripting experience for automation (Tcl, Python) and familiarity with physical design constraints.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (BS or MS in EE/CE) is stated.
