Role Summary

Develop and maintain high-capacity, high-performance VLSI CAD and visualization tools used in chip design. Work on full lifecycle software development including architecture, implementation, testing, and support.

Member of a small engineering team collaborating with internal customers worldwide to advance next-generation design tools and workflows.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 10 years of experience in CAD/EDA tool development.

Responsibilities

Deliver software features and systems for physical VLSI design automation and engineering visualization.

• Design, develop, review, test, and support large-scale CAD/EDA tools and visualization applications.
• Write well-designed, high-quality code for desktop engineering applications.
• Contribute to system and software architecture decisions and design reviews.
• Participate in Agile development practices with the engineering team.
• Collaborate with internal engineering customers worldwide to capture requirements and refine tools.
• Use modern development tooling and AI-assisted workflows to improve productivity.

Requirements

• Must-have: Minimum 10 years of experience in CAD/EDA tool development.
• Must-have: Strong knowledge of CAD data structures and algorithms, especially for physical VLSI design automation.
• Must-have: Expert-level programming skills in C++, Java, or C#.
• Must-have: Proficiency with modern software platforms and tools (examples: C++20, Java 21, git, IDEs such as CLion/Visual Studio/IDEA, unit test frameworks, CI/CD).
• Must-have: Experience in software system architecture and object-oriented design.
• Must-have: Experience using AI-based code assistant tools.
• Must-have: Ability to adapt to evolving project scope and team needs.
• Nice-to-have: Experience designing and coding large-scale design automation tools and performance analysis/tuning.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with at least one physical CAD data model.
• Nice-to-have: Interest or background in VLSI chip design concepts and EDA tool flows.

Education Requirements

MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
