Role Summary

Join NVIDIA AI's custom RAM design team to develop and maintain CAD tools and automated flows that accelerate circuit design for next‑generation AI and computing products. The role focuses on RAM tool flows, integration with ASIC flows, and improving designer productivity.

This is an individual contributor role working with circuit designers, physical design, and EDA teams in Santa Clara to deliver reliable, high‑performance memory compilers and tool automation.

Experience Level

Senior — requires at least 5 years of VLSI experience and proven CAD/tool development experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include building and maintaining tool flows, automating processes, and collaborating across design and EDA teams.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize VLSI CAD and RAM tool flows for ASIC/memory design.
  • Automate design and validation flows using scripting and software tools (Bash, TCL, Python).
  • Integrate RAM compilers and memory IP into overall ASIC design flows and toolchains.
  • Work with circuit designers and physical design teams to meet performance, area, and power targets.
  • Validate tool outputs, diagnose issues, and implement fixes to improve flow robustness and runtime.
  • Document flows, create testbenches, and develop metrics to track flow quality and performance.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise list of required and desirable qualifications.

  • Must-have:
    • 5+ years of VLSI/CAD engineering experience.
    • Strong programming/scripting skills in Bash, TCL, and Python.
    • Experience with ASIC design flows, EDA tools, and memory/RAM design or integration.
    • Ability to debug flow failures, analyze tool output, and implement automated tests.
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Experience with memory compilers, physical design integration, or RTL-to-GDS flows.
    • Familiarity with C/C++ or build systems and CI for EDA flows.
    • Prior exposure to performance optimization and large-scale automation projects.
