Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 5+ years of experience in VLSI CAD tool development with AI/ML integration.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, prototyping, and deploying AI-enhanced CAD flows and maintaining automation infrastructure.

  • Develop and integrate advanced CAD solutions and automation flows using AI/ML for VLSI design and verification.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, and CAD teams to identify workflow improvements and integrate tools.
  • Research and prototype AI-based algorithms targeted at VLSI challenges and move proven approaches to production.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure to enable adoption of AI tools (CI, tool wrappers, data pipelines).
  • Evaluate impact of AI solutions on design quality, performance, and productivity; iterate on models and flows.
  • Provide technical support and training to engineering teams on AI-enabled CAD flows and best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in VLSI CAD tool development, with a focus on integrating AI/ML into EDA workflows.
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one AI/ML framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn).
  • Hands-on experience with VLSI physical design and familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence).
  • Experience developing and maintaining automation scripts (Python, Perl, Tcl, Make) and tooling for production use.
  • Knowledge of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model deployment as applied to VLSI design problems.
  • Strong analytical skills and clear communication; ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proven ability to deliver robust solutions into production.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience deploying AI/ML models in production VLSI CAD environments.
  • Contributions to open-source AI/EDA projects or publications in relevant conferences/journals.
  • Deep understanding of timing closure, power optimization, or yield enhancement and AI approaches to these problems.
  • Experience with cloud-based or distributed compute environments for large-scale AI training and inference.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
