Senior Verification Engineer, PCIe
Role Summary
Responsible for verification of PCIe controllers at IP and sub-system levels for NVIDIA GPUs and SoCs. The role focuses on building verification infrastructure, developing tests and coverage, and validating design correctness against specifications and micro-architecture.
Work closely with architects, designers, and pre/post-silicon teams to deliver robust, reusable verification environments and ensure high-quality silicon delivery.
Experience Level
Senior — 5+ years of relevant verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities, developing infrastructure, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- Define verification scope and develop test plans and tests for PCIe controller IP/sub-systems.
- Design and implement verification infrastructure: bus functional models, monitors, checkers, scoreboards, and golden models.
- Build coverage-driven constrained-random verification environments and functional coverage models.
- Perform simulation, debug failures, and iterate with architects and designers to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with pre- and post-silicon teams to validate implementation against specification and architecture.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; concise list of nice-to-have items follows.
- Must-have: 5+ years of ASIC verification experience at unit, sub-system, or SoC level.
- Must-have: Strong experience with Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Experience developing functional-coverage-based constrained-random verification environments.
- Must-have: Familiarity with DV methodologies such as UVM or VMM and industry-standard simulation and debug tools.
- Must-have: Experience verifying IP or interconnect protocols (examples: PCIe, USB, SATA).
- Nice-to-have: Deep knowledge of PCIe protocol (Gen3 and above) and system-level PCIe/CXL architecture.
- Nice-to-have: Scripting or software experience (Perl, Python or similar) and strong debugging/analytical skills.
- Nice-to-have: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
B.Tech. or M.Tech. in a relevant engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
