Senior Verification Engineer, Digital IP
Role Summary
Responsible for pre-silicon verification of IP modules and subsystems. The role defines and executes verification plans, builds UVM-based verification environments, and works with hardware, firmware, software, architecture, and system engineering teams to validate IP functionality against specifications.
Experience Level
Senior — 4+ years of experience in IP/sub-system verification.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include planning and implementing verification activities and delivering verification results across simulation and hardware platforms.
- Define and write IP verification plans from requirements and specifications.
- Perform pre-silicon verification of IP modules and subsystems.
- Architect, develop, debug and run UVM-based verification environments for RTL simulation.
- Develop testcases, create stimulus and assertions, run simulations and debug on RTL, power-aware RTL, gate-level, FPGA and emulation platforms.
- Execute regression runs and collect/analyze functional and code coverage metrics.
- Interface with HW, FW, SW, architecture and system engineering teams to clarify functionality and integration points.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required for the role, followed by nice-to-have items.
- Proven experience in testbench design and development using UVM methodology for IP/subsystem and SoC verification.
- Advanced knowledge of Verilog and SystemVerilog; familiarity with C/C++ and Shell scripting.
- Strong understanding of metric-driven verification concepts, and experience collecting and interpreting functional and code coverage.
- Experience with directed and constrained-random verification methodologies.
- Knowledge of formal verification methodologies and assertions.
- Experience debugging designs pre- and post-silicon in simulation and on the bench.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Scripting experience with Perl, TCL or Python.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. (The posting specifies 4+ years of experience in IP/sub-system verification.)
