Senior Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the MME MCU/MPU Digital IP team responsible for verification of digital IP for automotive and microcontroller products. The role leads verification activities, drives a zero-defect mindset, provides technical leadership on complex verification challenges, and mentors a small team of engineers.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Experience guidance from the job qualifications: BSEE with 5+ years, MSEE with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of semiconductor industry experience.
Responsibilities
Lead and execute verification efforts for digital IP projects.
- Define and execute verification plans and schedules.
- Design and implement verification testbenches and test environments.
- Develop drivers, monitors, scoreboards and integrate UVM VIPs.
- Create directed and constrained-random stimulus and functional coverage models.
- Develop and maintain SystemVerilog assertions (SVA) and apply formal verification methods.
- Analyze RTL, functional coverage, and assertion coverage results; perform root-cause analysis.
- Debug failures across simulation and automated test environments.
- Mentor and grow engineers; provide technical guidance on complex verification challenges.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- Strong expertise in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
- Experience with class-based verification methodologies such as OVM/UVM.
- Experience developing testbench components (drivers, monitors, scoreboards) and verification IP integration.
- Proven ability to write and maintain SystemVerilog assertions and develop functional & code coverage models.
- Experience with formal verification methodologies and protocol verification (e.g., DDR, PCIe, AMBA/AXI/CHI/ACE).
- Strong debugging skills and familiarity with major simulation and debug tools.
- Scripting experience in Python, Perl, and UNIX/Linux for automation and test infrastructure.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead verification planning and mentor junior engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- VHDL experience.
- Experience applying AI/LLM-based approaches to improve engineering efficiency.
Education Requirements
Degrees specified in the posting: BSEE with 5+ years semiconductor industry experience; MSEE with 3+ years; or PhD with 1+ year. Field specified: Electrical Engineering (EE). No explicit mention of equivalent-experience language.
