Senior Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join an ASIC/FPGA engineering team to plan and execute verification for complex digital designs and subsystems. The role focuses on ensuring designs meet functional, quality and performance targets before production hardware deployment.
Location: Meldreth area with work in Bristol or Cambridge. Position available as permanent or contract.

Responsibilities
Accountable for verification planning, implementation and delivery across ASIC and FPGA projects.
- Develop and execute verification strategies for complex digital designs and subsystems.
- Create and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments, testbenches and coverage models.
- Debug RTL and verification issues to meet functional and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with design, FPGA and systems engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support automation, regression testing and continuous improvement of verification flows.
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Proven experience verifying ASIC and/or FPGA designs.
- Strong SystemVerilog and UVM expertise.
- Good understanding of RTL design and digital hardware development.
- Experience with coverage-driven and assertion-based verification techniques.
- Linux proficiency and scripting skills (Python, Tcl, Bash or similar).
- Strong debugging, analytical and communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in communications, networking, aerospace, defence or other high-performance digital systems.
- Digital signal processing (DSP) or complex hardware architecture experience.
- Formal verification, FPGA prototyping, CI/CD or automated regression environment experience.
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink.
Education Requirements
Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline is specified as an essential requirement.
