Job Title
Senior Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Validate radiated and conducted RF performance and DSP design of wireless PHY and MAC IPs for low-power System-on-Chip IoT products. Join the IoT RF Validation team to perform silicon bring-up, system-level testing, and cross-functional validation across multiple wireless technologies.
Work spans development lifecycle from initial bring-up to optimization of shipping products, collaborating with IP, SoC, firmware, and system engineering teams. Position is based in the Budapest office.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 6+ years of relevant experience with a BSc or 4+ years with an MSc, as indicated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include silicon bring-up, RF measurement, and system validation.
- Bring up and validate new IP on silicon; provide feedback to cross-functional teams.
- Perform RF hardware testing from building-block to system-level feature validation.
- Develop system-level RF test architectures and scalable methodologies for new wireless features.
- Define and manage cross-layer validation requirements from PHY through application level.
- Create or modify tests within the test software framework and automate test flows where appropriate.
- Lead complex system-level debugging and contribute to development of advanced validation tools for multi-protocol wireless and RF front-end solutions.
- Support technical customer-facing activities and collaborate with field application or system engineering teams as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience are listed first; followed by additional desirable skills.
-
Must-have: Strong grasp of analog and digital signal fundamentals and basic circuit measurement methods.
- Advanced knowledge of RF signal chains including LNAs, mixers, PAs, ADCs and DACs.
- Proficiency taking measurements with standard RF lab instruments: signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscope, DMM, and power supplies.
- High proficiency in hardware testing from planning through data review and interpretation.
- Experience with Python or another high-level modeling/scripting language for test automation and data analysis.
- Experience developing or using automated test systems for hardware testing or software QA.
- Proven ability in system-level debugging and creating validation tools or test frameworks.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with wireless standards such as Bluetooth Low Energy, 802.15.4, or 802.11 Wi‑Fi.
- Experience with revision control and code management systems (GitLab/GitHub/Bitbucket).
- Basic DSP knowledge (e.g., up/down sampling, FIR filtering).
- Experience with AI-powered tools to support productivity, analysis, or decision-making.
- Prior experience leading small technical teams or projects.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering is specified. The posting indicates BSc holders typically have ~6+ years of relevant experience or MSc holders ~4+ years; equivalent practical experience is acceptable per the listing.
