Senior Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Lead validation engineering efforts in a lab environment for complex ASICs and systems. The role directs validation projects, coordinates multidisciplinary teams, and drives debug and test strategies to identify root causes and verify product readiness.

Works closely with hardware, firmware, and systems teams to plan validation activities, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on planning and executing validation and debug activities and coordinating across teams.

  • Lead validation projects and coordinate lab execution to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Monitor validation progress, report status, and recommend resourcing and equipment decisions to leadership.
  • Organize and run debug meetings; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Mentor and guide cross-functional team members through technical issues and testing methodologies.
  • Develop test plans, validation procedures, and documentation for complex hardware and system-level tests.

  • Must-have: Practical experience with serial and parallel interfaces such as I2C, SPI, I3C, UART, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and InfiniBand.
  • Must-have: Experience with switching power supply testing including load testing, tuning for transient response, and stability analysis (Bode/Nyquist).
  • Must-have: Experience in EMI/EMC product debug and mitigation techniques.
  • Must-have: Linux command-line experience for system administration and test automation.
  • Must-have: Extensive thermal testing experience, including thermal debug methodology for high-wattage ASICs and complex dissipation materials.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience coordinating validation across hardware, firmware, and system teams in high-volume projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCE), or equivalent practical experience.
