Senior Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for post-silicon validation of multiple SoC products to meet project KPIs. Works within the Silicon Validation team and coordinates with global design, verification, product and test teams to validate, debug, and release silicon.

Experience Level

Senior - typically 3–5 years' experience in post-silicon validation or pre-silicon emulation of digital SoCs.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include planning and executing validation, debugging silicon, automation, and mentoring junior engineers.

• Plan and execute post-silicon validation for multiple SoCs in parallel.
• Validate and debug silicon issues to support product release.
• Develop and improve automated validation setups and scripts.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior team members.
• Interface and collaborate with Design, Verification, Applications, Product, Test Engineering, and Marketing.
• Optimize validation processes to reduce overall validation cycle time.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience; preferred items noted when applicable.

• 3–5 years' experience in post-silicon validation or pre-silicon emulation of digital SoCs.
• Proven experience validating complex SoCs and knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor architecture and instruction sets.
• Strong C programming skills and scripting experience (Python).
• Good understanding of RTOS concepts; experience with FreeRTOS preferred.
• Embedded firmware development experience on ARM MCU platforms; familiarity with Linux and other RTOS.
• Solid understanding of peripherals: clocking, power management, Ethernet, PCIe, SerDes, USB.
• Experience developing automated validation flows and tools; AI/ML tools knowledge for automation is a plus.
• Strong documentation, verbal communication, and presentation skills; able to work with multi‑geography teams.
