Senior UCIe Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Senior-level applications engineering role focused on enabling customers to integrate and validate UCIe (Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express) and other high-speed chip-to-chip interfaces with Synopsys IP and tools. The role sits on an applications engineering or product engineering team and works cross-functionally with product, design engineering, and customers.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 7+ years of relevant experience in applications engineering, system integration, or high-speed interface engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer enablement, system-level validation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful integration of interfaces and IP.
- Engage with customers to understand system requirements and provide technical guidance on UCIe and related interconnects.
- Define and execute system-level validation, interoperability, and bring-up activities.
- Interpret protocol and specification requirements and translate them into test plans and demonstrations.
- Diagnose system issues, perform root-cause analysis, and work with product and design teams to resolve defects.
- Produce application notes, integration guides, and example configurations for customers and partners.
- Collaborate with internal teams (IP, EDA R&D, support) to improve product fit and customer outcomes.
Requirements
Must-have practical skills and experience to perform the role; preferred skills listed separately.
- Must-have: Proven experience in applications or system-level engineering in the semiconductor, IP, or EDA domain and experience working directly with customers or partners.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with high-speed interfaces, system integration, or chiplet/packaging verification and debugging workflows.
- Must-have: Strong technical communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Direct experience with UCIe, PCIe, SerDes, signal-integrity/debug tools, or packaging/chiplet technologies.
- Preferred: Experience using EDA tools, scripting (Python, TCL), and building lab-based validation setups.
