Senior Tools Development Engineer
Role Summary
Senior software tools engineer on the GPU SWQA team responsible for designing and implementing automated tests and development tools for NVIDIA device drivers and SDKs on Windows platforms. The role focuses on applying AI technologies to automate test cases and accelerate test workflows.
Work includes building utilities and frameworks, driving test automation initiatives, debugging and root-cause analysis, and reporting test coverage and deliverable readiness.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of relevant programming and test automation experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and scaling automated tests and tools for GPU software on Windows; identifying defects and driving them to resolution; and improving test coverage and workflows.
- Design and implement automated tests that incorporate AI techniques for device drivers and SDKs on Windows.
- Build tools, utilities, and frameworks in Python, C#, or equivalent to optimize GPU testing workflows.
- Create and run automated and manual tests, analyze results, report defects, and verify fixes.
- Drive test automation initiatives and expand automated coverage across products and interfaces.
- Isolate, debug, and perform root-cause analysis on complex issues; contribute to remediation.
- Measure and report code and test coverage; recommend and implement coverage improvements.
- Provide peer code reviews focusing on performance, scalability, and correctness.
- Estimate and prioritize tasks, produce progress reports, and escalate critical issues as required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, plus preferred skills that increase impact.
- Must-have: 5+ years programming experience with Python, C#, or equivalent and solid Object-Oriented Programming skills.
- Must-have: Hands-on Python scripting experience (application concepts including dictionaries, tuples, RegEx, packaging with pip).
- Must-have: Experience working on Windows OS and strong understanding of GPU, CPU, and SoC architectures.
- Must-have: Knowledge of PC I/O architecture and common bus interfaces (PCIe, USB, SATA) and related specifications.
- Must-have: Practical experience using AI-driven tools to automate test cases and QA workflows.
- Must-have: Experience with databases and storage technologies such as SQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- Must-have: Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills; effective cross-team communication.
- Nice-to-have: Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines, fixing regression bugs, and scaling automation across distributed teams.
Education Requirements
B.S. / B.Tech / M.S. in Computer Science, Electronics & Telecommunication, or a related technical field β or equivalent practical experience.
