Job Title

Senior Test Engineer - Product Development

Role Summary

The Senior Test Engineer owns end-to-end development of CP/FT ATE test solutions for analog and mixed-signal ICs, leading NPI bring-up and supporting high-volume production. Responsibilities include test architecture, ATE software and hardware solutions, yield and quality performance, and cost optimization across the product lifecycle.

Works with cross-functional teams including Design, Packaging, Product Engineering, and Quality, and mentors junior engineers.

Experience Level

Senior-level; the posting specifies 3+ years of ATE test development experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Accountable for test strategy, program ownership, hardware and supplier engagement, NPI and production support, and continuous cost and efficiency improvements.

  • Define CP/FT test strategies to balance coverage, quality, test time, and cost.
  • Develop, debug, and optimize ATE test programs on Teradyne ETS, Teradyne UltraFLEX, SPEA, and NI STS platforms.
  • Establish methodologies for precision analog, ADC/DAC, DSP, and power management IC testing.
  • Lead or review ATE hardware solutions (load boards, probe cards) and drive supplier technical reviews.
  • Lead NPI test bring-up and transition to volume manufacturing; support characterization and reliability testing (e.g., HTOL).
  • Monitor production data to identify yield degradation, test escapes, or correlation issues; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Optimize test time, hardware cost, and test limits; lead cost-down initiatives in high-volume production.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product Engineering, Packaging, and Quality teams; provide early test feasibility and risk assessments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and maintain clear, structured test documentation and reuse strategies.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.

Requirements

Key required skills and experience, followed by preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with at least one major ATE platform (Teradyne ETS, Teradyne UltraFLEX, SPEA, or NI STS / PXI-based systems).
  • Must-have: Strong understanding of precision analog measurement, ADC/DAC testing, and power management IC test principles.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in test development languages such as C, C++, or VB and ability to design structured, maintainable test software.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated experience supporting NPI and high-volume manufacturing and ownership of yield, quality, or test-coverage issues.
  • Must-have: Ability to lead technical reviews with suppliers and manage supplier interfaces through production.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with ATE test hardware design (load boards) and probe card considerations.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cadence or other EDA tools, basic semiconductor manufacturing and failure analysis knowledge.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience acting as a technical lead or mentoring engineers; Chinese language skills are a plus.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or above in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, Integrated Circuits, Automation, or related disciplines.
