Role Summary

Design and verify highly integrated RF modules and radio-frequency front-end (RFFE) modules, focusing on performance, reliability and testability. Create, implement and optimize automated test solutions and ATE test plans for complex RF and mixed-signal measurements.

Position sits on the test engineering team in Hillsboro, OR. Hybrid schedule permitted: typically 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

Experience Level

Senior / Professional level. The role expects experienced engineers with several years of relevant RF test and automation work (source indicates a 5-year experience expectation).

Responsibilities

Accountabilities for the role include the following:

• Design and develop highly integrated RF/RFFE modules with attention to testability and reliability.
• Develop and implement automated test solutions and ATE test plans for complex RF measurements.
• Program ATE/test systems using languages such as C++ and Java; automate test sequences and data collection.
• Perform RF and mixed-signal measurements using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters and DMMs.
• Define and execute power amplifier and RF module performance tests and LTE/5G metrics (ACLR, EVM, SEM, PAE, IMD, S-parameters, ESD).
• Optimize test processes to reduce test time and cost; evaluate and improve test throughput and efficiency.
• Review and interpret schematics, datasheets and test procedures; investigate new test methods and tools.
• Provide guidance on PCB layout techniques for optimum RF performance as they relate to testability.

• Proven experience developing automated RF/mixed-signal test solutions and integrating test equipment into production flow.
• Experience developing ATE test plans and programming ATE systems using C++ and/or Java.
• Proficiency with RF measurement equipment: VNAs, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters and DMMs.
• Practical knowledge of power amplifier test methodologies and RF measurement techniques.
• Familiarity with LTE Advanced / 5G measurements (ACLR, EVM, SEM, PAE, IMD, S-parameters) and ESD testing practices.
• Understanding of PCB layout considerations that affect RF performance and test results.
• Ability to automate, optimize and document test processes for production environments.
• Employment constraint: this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company.
• Nice to have: experience with common ATE platforms, additional scripting (Python, MATLAB) or experience with RF module design.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field is required, plus approximately 5 years of relevant work experience in RF test or test engineering. Related technical fields and equivalent practical experience were referenced in the source.
