Senior Test Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Test Engineer leads test engineering for assigned products, defining and executing test strategy, validation, and manufacturing test plans across R&D, Manufacturing, Process, and Quality teams.
Primary mission: ensure product performance, reliability, and manufacturability through NPI, qualification, and production support.
Experience Level
Senior-level; typically 6–10+ years of experience in test or reliability engineering within high‑tech manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
Responsible for test strategy, reliability validation, NPI support, yield and quality improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Own test strategy, coverage, specifications, and execution for assigned products.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing and reliability test plans and test specifications.
- Act as the primary technical owner for test-related issues and escalations.
- Plan and execute reliability testing; analyze failure trends and recommend improvements.
- Support Design for Testability (DfT) and Design for Reliability (DfR) with R&D and Product Engineering.
- Support NPI activities, product transfer, production ramp, qualification, and engineering change management.
- Analyze yield, performance, and quality metrics; participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with local and global engineering teams; communicate technical status, risks, and data-driven recommendations.
- Comply with and promote EHS policies and safe work practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrated experience for the role.
- 6–10+ years of hands-on experience in test or reliability engineering in high‑tech manufacturing.
- Practical experience in manufacturing test development, execution, and test data analysis.
- Experience supporting reliability testing, qualification, and validation activities.
- Background in optical, photonics, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in technical documentation and engineering-change workflows.
- Effective English communication skills and ability to work in global, cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Physics, or related field) required; Master’s degree preferred.
