Role Summary

Lead SoC architect for 32-bit microcontroller-based Bluetooth, UWB, and Wi‑Fi products within the Wireless Solutions Group. Define system- and peripheral-level architecture that balances performance, power, security, and cost targets.

Provide technical leadership across marketing, design, firmware, verification, and external partners from concept through tape-out and production, ensuring strong software support and cross-functional alignment.

Experience Level

Senior - requires extensive industry experience; posting specifies 15+ years of relevant experience in wireless technology design and/or architecture roles.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining SoC and peripheral architectures, performing trade-off analyses, and driving cross-functional delivery from concept to silicon.

• Define system architecture for Bluetooth, UWB, and Wi‑Fi SoCs: core selection, memory subsystems, power management, security, and test features.
• Own peripheral architecture: programming models, interfaces, feature sets, and operational behavior.
• Perform feasibility studies and architectural trade-offs to meet market cost and feature targets.
• Specify features and architectures to meet functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity (ISO 21434, including TARA) requirements.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and customers to define product vision, features, and cost considerations, and present these to leadership.
• Partner with firmware, verification, emulation, and test teams to ensure software support and successful pre- and post-silicon validation.
• Coordinate with IP vendors and internal stakeholders to align technical requirements and roadmaps.
• Apply AI-driven and automation techniques to improve design quality, methodology, and cycle time.
• Contribute across the development lifecycle from requirements through tape-out and production testing.
• Foster collaboration across geographically distributed teams and promote an inclusive working environment.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience needed to perform the role.

• 15+ years industry experience in wireless technology design or architecture roles.
• Proven expertise in microarchitecture and microcontroller development; hands-on SoC implementation experience.
• Strong knowledge of BLE, UWB, and Wi‑Fi communication principles and standards.
• Deep familiarity with ARM and other RISC core architectures.
• Solid understanding of low-power design techniques and power/analog subsystems.
• Experience across the microcontroller product lifecycle, including pre-silicon and post-silicon validation and production testing.
• Proven ability to work with geographically distributed teams and external partners.
• Familiarity with functional safety and cybersecurity standards for embedded products.
• Nice-to-have: experience with industry SoC EDA tools and flows, security-feature design, validation/debug on FPGA and silicon boards.

Education Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
