Senior Technical Product Management Leader

Role Summary

Lead technical product management for Synopsys's implementation portfolio with a focus on advanced-node applications, AI-enabled design flows, and sustainable product differentiation. Coordinate across customers, R&D, product engineering, and TPMs to convert market needs into executable product plans and deliverables.

Experience Level

Senior — ~20+ years in applications engineering, R&D, or design roles within EDA or semiconductor design is required.

Responsibilities

Own product strategy and execution for implementation tools; engage customers and internal teams to define requirements and release readiness.

• Lead technical product management for the implementation portfolio (synthesis, place & route, ECO flows, timing/formal verification).
• Work directly with customers at leading semiconductor companies, hyperscalers, and large CAD organizations to identify high-value problems and requirements.
• Define Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) and collaborate on Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) that engineering can execute against.
• Guide teams to produce Tcl/Python prototypes and executable specifications to reduce ambiguity and accelerate development.
• Define release readiness criteria for Alpha, Beta, LCA, and GA across products.
• Represent Synopsys as a subject-matter expert at customer technical reviews and industry forums.
• Mentor and coach TPMs to prioritize initiatives, navigate cross-functional tradeoffs, and maintain focus on high-impact work.
• Build repeatable processes for prioritization, customer feedback loops, and KPI tracking.

Must-have

• 20+ years in applications engineering, R&D, or design roles within EDA or semiconductor design.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in synthesis, place & route, ECO flows, formal verification, or related implementation domains.
• Proven ability to define product requirements through direct customer engagement with leading semiconductor companies, hyperscalers, or large CAD organizations.
• Executive presence and the ability to present technical product strategy to VPs, CTOs, and senior engineering leaders.
• Ability to work in ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and balance technical merit with business ROI.
• Willingness to be onsite at Sunnyvale HQ 4–5 days per week and travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Experience mentoring and leading TPMs through complex cross-functional interactions.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with AI-driven design flows and creating product differentiation at advanced process nodes (3nm, 2nm, etc.).
• Track record of representing products at industry events (IEEE, IMEC, GOMAC, TSMC events) or similar forums.
