Job Title

Senior Technical Leader Driving Design Excellence

Role Summary

Senior technical leader responsible for driving design excellence and technical execution across complex analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit development from specification through silicon validation and production readiness.

Works cross-functionally as a global technical authority to improve engineering execution, mentor teams, and align designs with system, verification, test, and manufacturing requirements. Role is based in Kodaira, Japan with a hybrid work model (two remote days per week; in-office days typically Tuesday–Thursday).

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8–10+ years of relevant analog and/or mixed-signal IC design experience with technical leadership on complex IC or system developments.

Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and ensure robust design delivery across the product lifecycle.

  • Serve as a global technical authority and provide direction across multiple programs.
  • Lead development of complex systems and define strategies balancing performance, power, area, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Own critical design blocks from specification through silicon validation; provide oversight for design, simulation, integration, and debug.
  • Review and guide engineering work to enforce best practices, quality standards, and production readiness.
  • Guide high-level verification planning and align verification, simulation, and silicon behavior with system requirements.
  • Define DFT and test strategies to ensure observability, debuggability, and testability.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across design, verification, test, validation, applications, quality, and reliability teams.
  • Identify workflow gaps and introduce automation and practical AI-assisted solutions to improve traceability, documentation, and productivity.
  • Mentor engineers and technical leaders; contribute to roadmap alignment and adoption of engineering best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and capabilities.

  • Proven technical leadership on complex analog and/or mixed-signal IC or system developments.
  • Deep practical knowledge of product lifecycle including system-level design, verification, validation, DFT, test, and production readiness.
  • Experience owning design execution, including simulation, integration, silicon debug, and delivering production-ready designs on schedule.
  • Ability to influence across teams and communicate effectively in multicultural, global environments.
  • Experience defining test and DFT strategies and ensuring correlation between simulation and silicon.
  • Track record of mentoring engineers and improving engineering methodologies and team practices.
  • Comfort applying automation and pragmatic AI tools to improve workflows and documentation.

Nice-to-have:

  • Advanced degree in a technical field (preferred, see Education Requirements).
  • Experience in multi-site global program coordination and customer-facing technical discussions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline is expected; an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is preferred. (Degree-level qualification appears in the original posting.)
