Senior Systems Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Senior Systems Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm Interconnect Technology (QITC) to verify network-on-chip (NoC) solutions and ensure system-level performance targets (CPU/NSP to DDR) are met. The role sits within the ASICS Engineering group and focuses on system and performance validation using emulation platforms and benchmarks.
The engineer will define and implement system and performance validation plans, execute bare-metal and Linux benchmark workloads on emulators, analyze results, and contribute to performance exploration and automation infrastructure.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 5+ years of industry experience (posting indicates a multi-year professional requirement).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities center on system-level verification and performance validation for interconnect IP.
- Define and implement system and performance validation plans for interconnects.
- Run bare-metal test cases, Linux benchmarks, and NSP micro-benchmarks on emulation platforms.
- Verify NoC behavior in full-system context and validate CPU/NSP to DDR performance targets.
- Perform infrastructure performance analysis and participate in exploration and automation efforts.
- Use emulation, FPGA prototypes, RTL simulation, and debug tools to validate designs.
- Collaborate with SoC integration teams to ensure power, performance, and area targets are achievable.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- Proficient in C and ARM assembly language.
- Strong systems knowledge: ARM CPU architecture, interconnects and protocols, cache and coherency concepts.
- Experience with verification methodology and system-level validation.
- Familiarity with emulation methodology (FPGA, debug tools, RTL simulation) and Linux-based workflows.
- Experience running and analyzing bare-metal tests and Linux benchmarks on emulator platforms.
- Ability to analyze performance data and contribute to automation and infrastructure tooling.
Nice-to-have:
- DSP / NSP knowledge.
- Python and Verilog experience.
- DRAM, scheduling, or Linux kernel boot flow experience.
- Prior emulation or silicon validation experience.
Education Requirements
Micro-electronics or similar Engineer diploma (5-year engineering program) or a Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering or related field. The posting indicates a minimum of ~5 years industry experience; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
