Senior Systems Engineer, Product Definition

Role Summary

Join the Power Integrated Circuit (PIC) product line as a Senior Systems Engineer responsible for defining, verifying, and supporting next-generation regulator and lighting products. Act as the technical liaison between customers and internal engineering teams to architect application-level solutions for automotive, robotics, and datacenter markets.

Experience Level

Senior-level - posting requests 4+ years of industry experience in power converter applications or Power IC design.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include product definition, customer application analysis, verification, and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Develop specifications, product architectures, and algorithms for power management products.
  • Analyze customer applications in automotive, robotics, and datacenter to define requirements and solutions.
  • Perform hands-on, application-based lab verification and performance testing of Power ICs.
  • Produce datasheets, application reports, reference designs, and other technical collateral to support sales and design wins.
  • Collaborate with Design, Test, Safety, and Quality engineering teams to ensure robustness from concept through production.
  • Travel nationally and internationally to support customers and application evaluations as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • 4+ years industry experience in Power Converter Applications or Power IC design.
  • Strong knowledge of PMICs and switching regulator topologies, EMI mitigation techniques, PCB layout best practices, and laboratory testing methods.
  • Proficiency with common lab equipment and application-level test methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to create and deliver clear technical presentations to customers and leadership.
  • Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, SIMPLIS/SIMetrix, or LabVIEW.
  • Familiarity with automotive system architectures (EPS, braking, EV traction) and semiconductor manufacturing/packaging processes.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE, MSEE) or equivalent practical experience; strong background in analog and digital electronics.
