Job Title

Senior Systems Engineer - Automotive

Role Summary

Systems engineer in the automotive systems engineering and marketing organization. The role participates in the CoreRide project for production-ready ECU development, prototypes vehicle architecture concepts, and creates reference designs for customers.

Works across product enablement and customer engagements, collaborating with global teams to deliver vehicle system solutions.

Experience Level

Senior-level; the posting specifies 5+ years of relevant experience in Automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, semiconductor companies, automotive software vendors, or related industries.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include software development, system design, and customer support for automotive applications.

  • Develop and test systems and application software; design reference solutions for automotive applications such as gateway, central computing, domain controller, zonal controller, and ECU.
  • Collaborate with global NXP teams to create vehicle system solutions and support new product enablement.
  • Support China and global customers on NXP automotive products and projects.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional experience, plus preferred qualifications listed separately.

  • Must-have: 5+ years' experience in automotive-related industries (OEM, Tier 1, semiconductor, automotive SW vendor, or related).
  • Must-have: Strong programming skills in C/C++ and ARM assembly.
  • Must-have: Knowledge of automotive technologies: vehicle electrical/electronic architecture, Linux, AUTOSAR, TSN, security, and functional safety.
  • Must-have: Understanding of microprocessor and microcontroller architecture.
  • Must-have: Good interpersonal and presentation skills; proficiency in both Chinese and English (oral and written).
  • Must-have: Proactive learner with a results-oriented attitude.
  • Nice-to-have: Linux internals, device driver development, networking, multicore systems, kernel, and virtualization.
  • Nice-to-have: Embedded systems, RTOS, device drivers, and CPU core/instruction set knowledge.
  • Nice-to-have: Ethernet/TSN/TCP-IP, routing and switching knowledge.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with ECU systems (gateway, CCU, VCU), inverter, BMS, OBC.
  • Nice-to-have: Automotive energy distribution (DCDC, eFuse, eSwitch) and hardware design experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in automotive electronics, microelectronics, computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, or another relevant technical major.
