Senior Systems Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and deliver complex automated optical inspection and metrology platforms for the semiconductor industry. Work within engineering to define system architecture, mitigate technical risks, and drive products from concept through customer deployment.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 10+ years of relevant industry experience in high-precision optical or semiconductor capital equipment or related industries.
Responsibilities
Contribute independently to system-level design, implementation, and delivery of inspection/metrology products; coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet program goals.
- Define project goals and technical requirements.
- Develop system architecture and identify/mitigate technical risks.
- Collaborate with program management to plan and execute engineering activities.
- Apply full-system knowledge and analytical methods to develop effective solutions and perform root-cause analysis.
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, production, field service, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
- Ideate, prototype, and take complex products to market.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.
- Travel internationally to customer sites at least 20% of the time.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and professional skills; items marked as "plus" are desirable.
- 10+ years in high-precision optical or semiconductor capital equipment, or related industries.
- Proven ability to ideate, prototype, and bring complex products to market.
- Strong analytical skills for root-cause analysis and solution development.
- Demonstrated experience working on cross-functional product development projects.
- Ability to lead and complete complex projects independently; strong documentation and communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: knowledge of optical inspection, metrology, spectroscopy, ellipsometry, and reflectometry.
- Nice-to-have: experience with MATLAB, LabVIEW, and ZEMAX.
Education Requirements
PhD (preferred) or advanced degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
