Senior System Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Senior engineer responsible for system-level verification and validation of networking hardware and firmware/software across development and mass-production stages. The role sits within NVIDIA Networking and focuses on ensuring product quality, test automation, and production debugging for InfiniBand and Ethernet solutions.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5+ years of relevant hardware/software validation or product engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include planning, executing, and improving validation activities across hardware and software, and supporting production issues.
- Design, execute, and maintain verification and validation tests (regression, performance, functional, security).
- Improve test stability, coverage, and automation for development and mass production.
- Troubleshoot failures, debug production issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Develop and optimize test procedures and test flows, including simulation and automation tooling.
- Report test progress and produce summary reports for stakeholders.
- Support mass-production readiness and manufacturing-related testing.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Proven experience in hardware and software validation and test automation.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Perl).
- Ability to read and work within a large Python codebase and derive unit tests.
- Good knowledge of simulation flows and test automation development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with failure analysis and debugging.
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.
- Nice to have: C/C++ programming experience; prior system validation role experience; high-speed electrical testing and unit-test experience; familiarity with production manufacturing flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting also specifies approximately 5+ years of relevant experience.
