Job Title

Senior System Software Integration and Debug Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Platform Software team to own system-level software integration and debugging across firmware, BSP, drivers, GPU software, services, and release systems. The role drives cross-component integration, triage, and corrective action for complex SoC platforms and works with architecture, silicon, firmware, OS, and OEM partners.

Experience Level

Senior - 12+ years of relevant software development and systems integration experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include end-to-end integration strategy, system-level debugging, and driving corrective actions to ensure platform stability and performance.

  • Own end-to-end software integration strategy across firmware, BSP, drivers, GPU software, services, test, and release systems.
  • Lead system-level debugging of boot failures, hangs, crashes, resets, power-transition failures, performance regressions, and firmware/driver interactions.
  • Use crash dumps, event logs, traces, UART output, firmware logs, telemetry, and hardware diagnostics to isolate failures across layers.
  • Build automated failure classification to separate product defects from infrastructure, configuration, device, harness, and flaky-test failures.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for escaped defects, integration failures, and recurring infrastructure issues.
  • Integrate OEM and partner software into the NVIDIA stack to ensure compliance, stability, power, and performance targets.
  • Prioritize and triage issues across firmware, drivers, kernel, and hardware layers with multi-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with architecture, silicon, firmware, and OS teams to enable features and ensure cross-component integration.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

Must-have:

  • 12+ years of relevant software development and system-integration experience.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for automation and validation tooling.
  • Strong understanding of ARM microarchitecture and exception levels, with emphasis on integration and debugging.
  • Knowledge of SoC architecture covering Boot, Security, Power, and OS bring-up; familiarity with ACPI and Device Tree concepts.
  • Solid understanding of kernel and hypervisor internals on Windows and Linux; experience debugging kernel components with emphasis on Windows.
  • Experience integrating drivers/firmware and debugging complex systems deployed at scale.

Nice-to-have:

  • Background in advanced system-level debugging, reliability, and resiliency features.
  • Experience with end-to-end product integration and production deliverables.
  • Familiarity with system-level security concepts and embedded system software.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field - or equivalent practical experience.
