Senior System Software Engineer – Linux-Tegra Power Management and Performance Optimization
Role Summary
Work on Tegra SoC and NVIDIA embedded platforms to implement and optimize power and thermal management and system-level performance in Linux. The role focuses on improving compute and memory utilization, reducing latency and power consumption, and tuning system-level behavior for edge AI and robotics deployments.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 8+ years of software development experience with a significant focus on Linux-based systems.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include implementing kernel and user-space features, collaborating with hardware and platform teams, and tuning system software for real-world edge workloads.
- Implement power and thermal management features in the Linux kernel and user space.
- Collaborate with power architects, hardware engineers, and software teams on platform power estimation and optimization.
- Optimize the software stack to improve performance, efficiency, responsiveness, and scalability for edge AI and robotics use cases.
- Perform system-level bring-up, validation, and debugging on embedded platforms (SoC/board level).
- Diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues affecting performance, power, and reliability.
Requirements

Must-have:
- 8+ years of software development experience with a strong Linux focus.
- Excellent C programming and debugging skills for Linux kernel and user-space code.
- Experience with embedded systems and ARM architecture specifics.
- Proven system-level debugging and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with Linux power and thermal management features (scheduler, DVFS, runtime PM, suspend, thermal zones, etc.).
- Experience working with Linux and open-source software communities.
Education Requirements
MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related software/hardware engineering field - or equivalent practical experience.
