Job Title

Senior System Software Engineer - GPU Power Management

Role Summary

Join the GPU Power Management Software team in Pune to design, implement, and validate kernel-mode power management software for NVIDIA GPUs and platforms. You will work across software and hardware teams to develop power features, support silicon bring-up, and optimize system power and performance before product launch.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on kernel-mode software development, power/performance validation, and cross-team integration to deliver robust GPU power management.

  • Design, implement, and debug kernel-mode software for next-generation hardware through production.
  • Develop and optimize CPU, GPU, and platform power management features (DVFS, power states, residency improvements, idle/active power).
  • Own bring-up and hardening of power-related kernel and firmware components across SoC, PMU, regulators, and OS frameworks.
  • Support GPU products across Desktop, Notebook, Workstation, and Data Center segments to optimize performance-per-watt and system resilience.
  • Drive emulation, silicon bring-up, power/performance validation, and product hardening activities.
  • Collaborate globally with hardware, firmware, OS, and platform teams on end-to-end power behavior, telemetry, and optimization.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for this role.

  • Strong C programming and system-level (software + hardware) debugging, especially for power, performance, and thermal interactions.
  • Experience with computer system architecture and microprocessor/microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA).
  • Operating systems fundamentals with kernel experience on Windows.
  • Experience designing or shipping kernel-mode drivers/components and supporting hardware bring-up through production.
  • Familiarity with platform low-power concepts, PMIC interfaces, VR efficiency tuning, residency analytics, idle-power optimization, and power telemetry debugging.

Nice-to-have / differentiators:

  • Experience with x86 and/or ARM power frameworks.
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux power management.
  • Prior cross-team or cross-company work defining firmware/software power interfaces.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML-based power optimization approaches.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting also expects approximately 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
