Senior System Software Engineer - GPU MODS
Role Summary
Design and implement system-level software, tools, and infrastructure to validate and stress-test next-generation GPUs and high-performance computing servers. Work closely with hardware, architecture, and driver teams throughout product development, from pre-beta validation to productization.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical candidate has 5+ years of related hardware/software experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on designing validation tools and diagnostics and collaborating across hardware and software teams.
- Collaborate with architecture, hardware and driver teams across the product development lifecycle for computing and graphics processors.
- Design and build software tools and infrastructure required for chip development, validation, and productization.
- Assess new hardware features and architect manufacturing diagnostic and validation solutions using pre-beta driver extensions.
- Create and run demanding workloads to validate and stress-test GPUs and servers.
- Debug complex system-level issues and optimize validation tooling and processes.
- Document designs and technical decisions; communicate status and results to cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; a few desirable additions are listed separately.
- Must-have: 5+ years of experience in a hardware/software role involving system software or platform validation.
- Must-have: Strong C/C++ programming skills and solid foundation in operating system fundamentals.
- Must-have: Familiarity with PC architecture and experience working close to hardware.
- Must-have: Strong problem solving and debugging skills; ability to work independently and lead technical tasks.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with large system software code bases.
- Nice-to-have: Background with PCIe, NvLink or server interconnect technologies (InfiniBand, Ethernet) is a plus.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience building manufacturing diagnostics or validation frameworks.
Education Requirements
BTech or MTech in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
