Senior System Software Engineer - Embedded Controller
Role Summary
Design, implement, and improve embedded controller firmware, real-time OS components, and driver interfaces that support NVIDIA GPUs. Work on build, test, and execution infrastructure and drive changes from design through implementation, bring-up, and post-release support.
Collaborate with hardware and software teams across locations to resolve issues and integrate solutions.
Experience Level
Senior; requires 5+ years of professional experience in system or embedded software engineering.
Responsibilities
Deliver software and processes that improve product quality and the development lifecycle.
- Design and implement firmware and real-time operating system changes and the driver interfaces that connect them to the system.
- Improve build, test, and execution infrastructure used to develop and validate system software.
- Integrate tools that generate and check code into development and validation workflows.
- Lead design through implementation, bring-up, release, and post-release support for assigned components.
- Coordinate with hardware and software partners to diagnose and resolve cross-team issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Proven experience in system software, embedded software, or a related field.
- 5+ years of meaningful professional experience.
- Proficient in C; experience with scripting for build, test, or runtime automation.
- Experience with embedded software, real-time operating systems, device drivers, and low-level interfaces such as interrupts, GPIO, DMA, PCIe, or I2C.
- Track record of delivering software you were accountable for from design through release and support.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience using AI tools to assist software development and testing.
- Background in embedded software for power, thermal, or performance control; real-time control software design.
- Experience with operating system internals, kernel modules, or computer architecture.
- Experience with firmware security or safety.
- Experience with Rust.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
