Senior System Software Engineer, Display Security
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior System Software Engineer, Display Security
Role Summary
Lead design and delivery of Display Security features (HDCP) across SoC-based products. Ownership spans secure-engine firmware on RISC-V, protocol implementation, certification, and cross-platform software integration (Linux, Android).
Serve as the security lead for the team: perform threat modeling, vulnerability tracking and remediation, and coordinate with hardware, boot firmware, power management, validation, and GPU display teams.
Experience Level
Senior - 8+ years of experience in embedded systems, firmware, or system software development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead HDCP activities across SoC projects: roadmap, protocol implementation, compliance certification, and on-time delivery.
- Develop and maintain secure-engine firmware on a RISC-V based secure processor.
- Deliver end-to-end HDCP solutions across multiple software stacks (Linux, Android for automotive and consumer platforms).
- Implement firmware production signing, rollback-prevention strategies, and key-provisioning workflows.
- Perform threat modeling, static analysis, vulnerability tracking and remediation, and ensure security compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW design, boot firmware, power management, validation, GPU/display) to align architecture and delivery.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 8+ years in embedded systems, firmware, or system software development.
- Strong RISC-V or embedded-processor firmware development experience, including privilege-level isolation and secure boot.
- Deep understanding of cryptography and security protocols, specifically HDCP 1.x/2.x authentication, key management, and repeater topology.
- Familiarity with how HDCP integrates with display protocols (HDMI, DisplayPort).
- Proven track record leading cross-team technical initiatives from architecture through certification and delivery.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with HDCP compliance certification.
- Experience with SoC-level system integration: firewalls, fuse controllers, privilege isolation, secure carve-outs.
- Experience productizing DRM protocols (Widevine, PlayReady).
- Familiarity with automotive security standards (ISO 21434, UN R155).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
