Senior System Software Engineer - Display
Role Summary
Join the Display Software team to design and deliver system-level display features and drivers across the full product lifecycle. Work closely with hardware engineers, panel vendors, OEM partners, and cross-functional teams to implement, validate, and ship display protocols and related system software.
The role is expected to lead feature development and mentor other engineers while ensuring production-quality delivery and post-production support.
Experience Level
Senior - 7+ years of relevant software development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, validating, and delivering display-related system software and collaborating with internal and external partners.
- Design and implement system-level features based on industry-standard display protocols (e.g., DP/eDP).
- Define architecture and perform early modeling and simulation during pre-silicon phases.
- Drive feature development through pre-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, and production support.
- Collaborate with panel vendors and OEMs for interoperability and co-validation.
- Lead end-to-end software feature delivery; define production-quality benchmarks and processes.
- Support OEM partners with post-production issue resolution and co-engineering.
- Develop AI-based tools or agents to improve display debugging and quality infrastructure.
- Mentor and lead other engineers on feature development and delivery.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by concise nice-to-have items.
- 7+ years of relevant system software or driver development experience.
- Excellent C programming skills and strong understanding of data structures.
- Solid foundation in system software, device drivers, computer architecture, and operating-system fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience developing Windows display drivers and debugging with WinDbg.
- Knowledge of display technology and VESA DP/eDP specifications with related driver development experience.
- Familiarity with the complete chip lifecycle: pre-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, and post-silicon production support.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to independently own software components and deliver production-ready features.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work with hardware teams and external partners.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience developing display features that improve system power efficiency.
- Contributions to VESA eDP/DP specifications or other demonstrated innovation in display technology.
- Experience leading high-impact display features from concept to market launch.
- Experience working directly with OEMs, panel vendors, or other ecosystem partners.
- Strong AI background with experience building agents or automation that improve engineering efficiency.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.
