Senior System Software Engineer, Data Center Diagnostics

Role Summary

Work on software tools and diagnostics for next-generation high-speed interconnects and GPU/HPC platforms. Collaborate with hardware architects, silicon designers, and platform software teams to develop validation and productization infrastructure used in factories and data centers.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 5+ years in a related hardware/software role; experience working close to hardware and on large system software code bases is expected.

Responsibilities

Deliver system-level diagnostic software and toolchains across the product development lifecycle.

  • Design and implement software tools and infrastructure for chip development, validation, and productization.
  • Collaborate with architecture, hardware, and driver teams to define and validate diagnostics and test scenarios.
  • Assess hardware features and architect diagnostic software using pre-beta CUDA extensions and low-level interfaces.
  • Debug complex system issues and provide robust, efficient solutions targeting OS and hardware interactions.
  • Document designs, test plans, and results; communicate findings to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Key skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Must-have: 5+ years in a hardware/software role working close to hardware.
  • Must-have: Strong C/C++ and Python programming skills; experience with large system software code bases.
  • Must-have: Strong problem solving and debugging skills; solid understanding of operating systems, algorithms, and computer architecture.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with PCIe, NVLink, InfiniBand, Ethernet, or other server IO technologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with low-level CUDA extensions or other GPU-related toolchains.
  • Ability to self-manage, demonstrate technical leadership, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
