Senior System Software Engineer - Automotive

Role Summary

Develop safety- and security-compliant configuration and system software for the NVIDIA DRIVE automotive platform. Work on platform bring-up for Tegra SoC hardware, debug tooling, and solutions that span a large, partitioned software stack.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 5+ years of experience in embedded systems and platform bring-up.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, and integration of system and configuration software for automotive platforms.

• Design and implement ISO26262 (safety) and ISO21434 (security) compliant configuration and system software for NVIDIA DRIVE.
• Perform development and bring-up for next-generation Tegra SoC hardware and systems.
• Design debugging solutions and tooling to improve developer experience on the DRIVE platform.
• Architect and implement fixes for complex interactions across components in a large software stack.
• Apply formal methods to design and develop high-integrity software.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

• 5+ years working with embedded systems, platform bring-up, or equivalent experience in embedded software development.
• Experience configuring complex virtualized systems for target use cases.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, operating system fundamentals, and Ethernet networking.
• Experience reading board schematics, debugging board-level issues, and coordinating with hardware vendors.
• Proficient in Python and C/C++; experience with Ada/SPARK is a plus.
• Strong debugging skills across software and hardware interfaces.

Nice-to-have:

• Hands-on experience with ISO26262 and ISO21434 processes and productization.
• Experience using formal methods (for example TLA+) and Ada/SPARK toolchains.
• Track record of taking features from inception through product release following formal software development processes.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
