Senior System Level Verification Engineer
AxiadoJob Title
Senior System Level Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join the verification team responsible for system-level verification, chip bring-up, and validation of complex ARM-based SoCs. The role focuses on developing system-level test environments, creating and running test plans across simulation, emulation, FPGA, and post-silicon platforms, and collaborating with hardware and software teams to debug and resolve issues.
Experience Level
Senior - requires significant experience (posting specifies ~7 years DV/validation and ~5 years system-level verification using C).
Responsibilities
Primary system-level verification and validation responsibilities:
- Design and implement SOC system-level test environments for simulation and emulation, including logging, backdoor configuration, and device models.
- Create test plans and tests (including error-condition and stress tests) and automate regressions.
- Execute and debug tests in simulation, emulation, FPGA, and post-silicon environments.
- Work cross-functionally to root-cause hardware issues and produce system-level test cases to reproduce and validate fixes.
- Validate ROM and assist with ROM bring-up and verification activities.
- Collaborate with software teams to debug device drivers and OS boot issues.
- Contribute to firmware and bootflow validation, including reset handling, recovery, and firmware update scenarios.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience followed by preferred skills.
- Must-have: ~7 years DV/validation experience and ~5 years system-level verification experience using C.
- Proven experience through a complete SOC/ASIC project cycle.
- Strong understanding of CPU debug architecture and SOC system architecture.
- Proficient programming and modeling of SOC-connected devices (JTAG, UART, SPI, I2C).
- Testplanning and test-case development in C, including self-checking tests; experience running regressions.
- RTL debugging using waveform viewers.
- Mastery of C and fluency with scripting/tools: Make, Python, Perl, shell scripting.
- Experience with documentation and issue tracking tools such as Confluence and Jira.
- Nice-to-have / Preferred: experience with emulation, FPGA, and post-silicon validation.
- Experience validating complex IP interfaces (USB, Ethernet, PCIe, DDR).
- Familiarity using AI tools to aid test planning, generation, and debugging.
- Experience with SPDM, PLDM, MCTP protocols; Caliptra or crypto/security APIs.
- Experience with bootloaders, platform firmware (initialization, boot flows, reset handling, recovery, firmware-update mechanisms) and firmware authentication/OTP provisioning.
