Senior System Level Verification Engineer
AxiadoJob Title
Senior System Level Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for chip-level system verification and validation of ARM-based SoCs, with emphasis on simulation, emulation, regression testing, and root-cause debugging across hardware, ROM, and platform firmware.
Works closely with hardware, firmware, and software teams to build system-level test environments, execute test plans, and support ROM/FW bring-up and driver/OS boot debugging.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 7+ years in design verification or validation, including ~5+ years of system-level verification using C.
Responsibilities
Deliver system-level verification for SoC projects and support cross-team debugging and validation activities.
- Design and implement SOC system-level test environments for simulation and emulation, including log generation, backdoor configuration, and device modeling.
- Create test plans and tests, including error-condition and stress tests; implement self-checking C tests.
- Run and debug regressions in simulation and on emulators; perform RTL waveform debugging.
- Investigate and root-cause hardware issues and develop system-level verification cases to reproduce and validate fixes.
- Validate ROM and support firmware bring-up, boot flows, reset handling, recovery, and firmware-update mechanisms.
- Collaborate with software teams to debug device drivers and OS boot issues.
Requirements
Key technical requirements and preferred skills.
Must-have:
- 7+ years of design verification (DV) or validation experience and ~5+ years of system-level verification experience using C.
- Experience through a complete SOC ASIC project cycle.
- Strong understanding of CPU debug architecture and SOC system architecture.
- Proficient programming and modeling of SOC-connected devices (e.g., JTAG, UART, SPI, I2C).
- Test planning and test-case development skills using C; ability to create self-checking tests.
- Experience with RTL debugging using waveform viewers.
- Proficiency in C and scripting languages (Make, Python, Perl, shell).
- Experience with documentation and issue tracking tools such as Confluence and Jira.
Nice-to-have:
- Validation experience on emulation, FPGA, and post-silicon platforms.
- Experience validating complex IP interfaces (USB, Ethernet, PCIe, DDR).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for test planning, generation, and debugging.
- Experience with SPDM, PLDM, MCTP protocols; Caliptra or crypto/security APIs.
- Experience with bootloaders, platform firmware authentication/signature verification, and OTP provisioning.
