Senior System Firmware Engineer - SOC and GPU

Role Summary

Define firmware architecture and lead implementation for NVIDIA system-on-chip (SoC) and GPU firmware features. Work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and system architecture teams to deliver scalable, maintainable firmware with emphasis on security and functional safety.

Experience Level

Senior - 8+ years of relevant software or firmware engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Hardware, Software, and System Architecture teams to specify end-to-end firmware solutions.
  • Define system firmware architecture for new SoC and GPU products and features.
  • Lead development and implementation of strategic technologies including functional safety and security.
  • Set technical direction across multiple teams to ensure firmware is scalable, maintainable, and high quality.
  • Drive cross-team design reviews and coordinate integration across firmware and device software.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Experience with Windows kernel-mode drivers and device firmware.
  • Strong proficiency in C or C++ and a record of solving complex low-level problems.
  • Experience with virtual memory management, interrupt handling, and other low-level system software.
  • Proven firmware and/or software engineering experience with delivery of production systems.
  • Effective communicator and collaborative team player.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with system and chip bring-up.
  • Background with virtualization technologies and containers.
  • Graphics programming knowledge.

Education Requirements

BS or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
