Senior System and Scheduling Architect - GPU
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior System and Scheduling Architect - GPU
Role Summary
Design system-level interfaces and process scheduling for next-generation NVIDIA GPUs. Work on cross-functional architecture with hardware, firmware, software and verification teams to define functional and performance behavior of GPU subsystems.
Contribute models, C++ prototypes, and test plans; support pre- and post-silicon validation and collaborate globally to deliver GPU features.
Experience Level
Senior level. Position expects experienced engineers; the posting specifies 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include system architecture, design, and validation for GPU subsystems and scheduling.
- Analyze interactions among GPU subsystem modules and overall system integration.
- Architect and plan features with hardware, software, firmware, and verification teams across locations.
- Create functional and performance models (often in C++) and author test plans to validate designs.
- Support post-silicon validation and debug activities.
- Iterate designs based on performance and correctness findings; document architecture decisions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Nice-to-have items listed separately.
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficient in C or C++ for modeling and prototype development.
- Practical experience with system architecture, computer architecture, or operating systems (industry experience acceptable).
- Experience producing functional/performance models and test plans; familiarity with post-silicon validation.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills for global coordination.
Nice-to-have:
- Memory isolation and security, firmware, or process scheduling experience.
- Knowledge of graphics and compute stacks: OpenGL, DirectX, CUDA, DL/ML.
- Experience with interconnects and protocols: PCIe, AXI, NVLink, CXL.
- Scripting or automation skills (Perl, Python).
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Compute Architecture, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree, or equivalent practical experience. Course work or industry experience in computer architecture, operating systems, and system architecture is relevant.
