Senior Syn/STA Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Syn/STA Engineer will lead block-level digital design synthesis and Static Timing Analysis (STA) efforts. The role involves ensuring timing closure of complex digital systems and power optimization, with a focus on mentoring junior engineers and resolving Quality of Results (QoR) challenges.

Experience Level

Mid-level (4-6 years of relevant experience)

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting Digital Synthesis, DFT insertion, design checks, and timing analysis.
  • Developing and managing complex timing constraints throughout the design process.
  • Addressing timing violations and facilitating improvements in design implementation.
  • Utilizing STA and signoff processes for high-speed SoC designs in advanced processes.
  • Enhancing flows to resolve timing and timing-DRC issues.
  • Participating in floor-planning, placement, and physical design tool operations as needed.
  • Collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team.

Requirements

The following skills and experience are required:

  • Must-Have:
  • Hands-on experience in timing constraints development.
  • Strong capabilities in achieving timing closure on complex designs.
  • Experience in power optimization for digital designs.
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills.
  • Nice-to-Have:
  • Familiarity with digital design flow from RTL to GDS.
  • Experience with scripting in tcl, perl, or python for tool automation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
