Role Summary
Senior staff verification engineer responsible for planning and executing verification for DDR/LPDDR IP and related subsystems. Works on verification strategy, testbench development, system-level validation, and cross-functional problem resolution.
Experience Level
Senior (staff level). Typically 7+ years of relevant verification experience or equivalent senior technical experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities for this role include leading verification efforts and collaborating with engineering teams.
- Lead verification strategy and planning for DDR/LPDDR IP and subsystems.
- Design, implement, and maintain verification environments and testbenches (e.g., UVM/SystemVerilog).
- Create and execute comprehensive verification plans, test cases, and regression suites.
- Debug functional issues across simulation, emulation, and silicon bring-up phases.
- Collaborate with RTL designers, architecture, validation, and firmware teams to resolve issues.
- Mentor and review work of other verification engineers; drive verification best practices.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills expected for the role.
- Must-have: Substantial experience in digital verification, with direct experience verifying DDR/LPDDR or similar memory interfaces.
- Must-have: Proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM-based testbench development and simulation tools.
- Must-have: Strong debugging skills across simulation and silicon bring-up; experience with waveform analysis and issue triage.
- Must-have: Scripting skills for automation (Python, Perl, Tcl, or similar) and familiarity with common EDA flows.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with hardware emulation, FPGA prototyping, formal verification, or performance characterization.
- Nice-to-have: Prior leadership of verification projects or mentorship of junior engineers.
