Senior Manager, Post-Silicon Validation Engineering

Role Summary

Lead a post-silicon validation engineering team in Pune responsible for silicon bring-up, validation, characterization, and production release of FPGA products and IP blocks.

Provide technical direction, develop validation strategy and infrastructure, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive resolution of post-release issues. This role requires eligibility to work in India and successful background checks.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 15+ years in silicon validation, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage post-silicon validation activities from first silicon to production release:

  • Develop and execute validation and characterization strategies for analog, digital, and mixed-signal IP.
  • Oversee silicon bring-up, debug, datasheet characterization, and statistical analysis of measured data.
  • Define bench hardware and software requirements and build validation infrastructure and test environments.
  • Supervise development of RTL test logic to enable targeted validation and characterization.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination with design, verification, manufacturing, test, quality, and applications teams.
  • Provide leadership for customer issue resolution and post-release support.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proven track record managing complex silicon validation projects and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Deep expertise in high-speed SerDes characterization and protocol compliance testing.
  • Experience with high-speed board design, signal integrity evaluation, and debug.
  • Proficient in Verilog/VHDL and FPGA implementation flows.
  • Test automation development using Python and Perl.
  • Statistical analysis experience with tools such as JMP or R.
  • Hands-on use of bench equipment: BERT, VNA, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers.
  • Exposure to FPGA-based emulation and prototyping environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with specific protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, JESD204, MIPI, USB, DisplayPort, HDMI, SDI, CoaXpress).

Education Requirements

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
