Senior Staff Test Engineer

Role Summary

Lead development of automated test systems and test programs for analog, digital and mixed-signal ICs with a strong focus on power-management IC (PMIC) testing. Provide technical leadership across test, hardware and validation teams to define test strategies, resolve complex issues, and ensure product readiness.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 8–12+ years working with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and developing test programs for ICs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining test solutions and driving cross-functional alignment.

• Design, develop and maintain ATE test programs and test hardware for analog, digital and mixed‑signal ICs, especially PMICs.
• Perform debugging and failure analysis using oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers and ATE instruments.
• Optimize PCB layouts to reduce parasitics and improve testability.
• Define test strategies, schedules and milestones; coordinate with engineering and validation teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship; act as a subject matter expert and technical lead when required.
• Develop and maintain automated data collection and validation procedures.

Requirements

Key technical requirements and skills.

• 8–12+ years hands-on experience with ATE and ATE test development for analog, digital and mixed‑signal ICs; strong focus on PMIC testing.
• Hands-on debugging experience with analog products and serial bus interfaces.
• Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers and ATE analog/digital instruments.
• Proficient in programming for test automation (C++, Basic, Perl, Python or similar).
• Experience with test hardware development and reducing PCB parasitics.
• Strong troubleshooting and failure-analysis skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience leading technical teams or coordinating cross-functional test projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
