Senior Staff Technical Applications Engineer, STA & ECO
Role Summary
Customer-facing applications engineer focused on Static Timing Analysis (PrimeTime) and ECO tools (PrimeClosure/PTECO). Works with customer design teams to integrate tools, resolve timing closure issues at advanced nodes, and feed customer requirements back to R&D and product teams.
Part of the Customer Success Group supporting customers in Israel and collaborating globally with R&D, product marketing, and sales.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Drive adoption of PrimeTime and PrimeClosure in pre-sale evaluations and post-sale deployments.
- Run competitive benchmarks and document performance, accuracy, and capacity on real designs.
- Deliver hands-on training and technical workshops on timing closure methodology and ECO flows.
- Partner with R&D and product marketing to translate customer pain points into product requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex timing issues related to corners, process variation, crosstalk, and signal integrity.
- Present technical solutions to engineering teams and management, tailoring communication to the audience.
- Build and maintain technical relationships and act as a trusted advisor for timing closure challenges.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Solid working knowledge of Static Timing Analysis and ECO closure; able to explain timing concepts, constraints, and methodology to design teams.
- Direct, hands-on experience with chip tapeouts at 16nm or below involved in timing closure or ECO implementation.
- Hands-on proficiency with Synopsys PrimeTime: running STA, analyzing timing reports, and debugging violations.
- Understanding of timing corners and process variation (OCV, AOCV, POCV) and signal integrity effects such as crosstalk and IR drop.
- Experience with ECO flows (gate sizing, buffer insertion, logic restructuring) using PTECO or PrimeClosure.
- Familiarity with scripting (TCL or Python) to automate analysis and customize flows is a plus.
Education Requirements
BSEE with 5+ years of relevant experience, or MSEE with 3+ years; or equivalent practical experience. Degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field preferred.
