Senior Staff / Staff Digital Verification Engineer
Role Summary
On-site senior verification engineer responsible for developing and maintaining UVM-based verification environments for complex IP and SoC designs. The role works closely with design, architecture, and firmware teams to define and execute verification plans, debug RTL issues, and improve verification methodology and automation.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests approximately 6β14 years of experience in digital verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building verification infrastructure, executing verification campaigns, and ensuring product quality through systematic verification activities.
- Develop and maintain UVM-based verification environments, testbenches, and coverage models.
- Write and run test cases and constrained-random verification scenarios for IP and SoC blocks.
- Define verification plans and track coverage metrics to closure.
- Execute regressions, monitor results, and perform root-cause analysis of failures.
- Debug RTL issues and collaborate with design, architecture, and firmware teams to resolve them.
- Contribute to verification automation and continuous improvement of methodologies and flows.
- Participate in design and verification reviews and align verification activities with project schedules and quality standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and share best practices within the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience; listed advantages are noted as nice-to-have.
Must-have:
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM methodology, including constrained-random verification.
- Proficiency with verification tools and flows: simulators, waveform viewers, coverage tools, and regression management.
- Scripting skills for verification automation (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
- Solid understanding of computer architecture, including memory hierarchies and bus protocols.
- Proven ability to debug RTL and analyze verification failures; experience running large regressions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional, multicultural teams; availability for business travel.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with formal verification techniques and tools.
- Experience in semiconductor product development for automotive, industrial, or embedded systems.
- Familiarity with AI tools to accelerate code development and debugging.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (as stated in the posting).
