Role Summary
The Senior Staff SOC Engineer will drive full RTL2GDSII physical design implementation for advanced technology nodes while ensuring successful tape-outs. The role involves executing synthesis, place & route, and other vital processes, collaborating with global teams to meet performance targets.
Experience Level
Senior level, with at least 8 years of relevant experience in physical design.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Independently own and drive full RTL2GDSII physical design implementation for complex designs.
- Execute synthesis, place & route, CTS, and timing optimization processes.
- Perform block-level and full-chip floor-planning and physical verification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex design challenges.
- Utilize and optimize Synopsys EDA tools for design solutions.
- Develop automation scripts to streamline design workflows.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to design methodologies.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 8+ years in physical design, particularly in advanced nodes (7nm/5nm/3nm).
- Experience with RTL2GDSII flows and Synopsys EDA tools.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PERL, or TCL.
- Understanding of timing constraints and design methodologies.
- Exposure to high-frequency and low-power designs.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
