Job Title

Senior Staff SOC DFX Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Radeon Technologies Group front-end design and integration team to verify and validate Design-for-Test (DFT) and Design-for-Debug (DFD) features for advanced SoC products. Work closely with architects, IP designers, physical design, firmware and product engineers to enable first-pass silicon success.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. Preferred experience: 8+ years in DFT design verification or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on verification, test development, and silicon debug for DFT/DFD features.

  • Implement and verify DFT architecture and features for complex SoCs.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL/DFT designers and firmware engineers to define verification scope.
  • Estimate effort and plan test development and testbench changes.
  • Develop directed and random DFT verification tests and UVM-based testbenches.
  • Debug test failures, identify root cause, and coordinate fixes with design and firmware teams.
  • Enhance legacy DFT test plans to support new DFD developments.
  • Recreate post-silicon failures in pre-silicon environments and perform silicon root-cause analysis with minimal logging.
  • Use JTAG and related protocols for debug and validation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; items below summarize core expectations.

  • Extensive DFT design verification experience with strong on-silicon and pre-silicon debug skills.
  • SystemVerilog and UVM testbench development experience for complex SoCs, including GLS and SDF verification.
  • Advanced scripting for automation and testbench infrastructure (Python, Perl, or similar).
  • Deep understanding of digital design, RTL design, and verification flows.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical debugging ability; capable of debugging with limited logs.
  • Experience using simulation tools to debug firmware and RTL code.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to complex infrastructure environments.
  • Nice-to-have: prior leadership or mentorship experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
