Job Title

Senior Staff SoC Architect - AI Accelerators

Role Summary

Define and deliver SoC architecture and features for next-generation AI datacenter products. Focus areas include Security, Reliability/Availability/Serviceability (RAS), and Virtualization across server and accelerator platforms.

Work cross-functionally with hardware, firmware, software, systems, and product teams to translate customer and ODM requirements into scalable datacenter solutions and influence product roadmaps.

Experience Level

Senior / Staff level. Typical experience: 8+ years in hardware design, testing and commercialization, with at least 3+ years working on datacenter products (servers, accelerators) or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include system-level architecture, customer engagements, and defining operational capabilities for AI deployments.

  • Define SoC architecture and features for server and accelerator deployments (security, RAS, virtualization).
  • Engage with customers and ODMs to gather HW and SW requirements and translate them into architecture and product requirements.
  • Analyze existing AI server deployments and identify architectural enhancements for next-generation products.
  • Design RAS solutions: error detection, containment, recovery, telemetry, and serviceability mechanisms for system-scale reliability.
  • Define virtualization architecture: device virtualization, resource partitioning, workload isolation, and scalable multi-tenant support.
  • Specify security architecture including trusted execution and confidential computing controls; propose mitigations for emerging threats.
  • Collaborate with firmware, software, and product teams on fault management, recovery strategies, and deployment lifecycle.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills required for the role. Degree details are summarized under Education Requirements below.

  • Extensive experience in HW design, testing, validation, integration, and commercialization for SoC or accelerator products.
  • Deep, practical knowledge of datacenter domains: security, RAS, virtualization, telemetry, power/cooling, and deployment lifecycle.
  • Experience with server SoC architectures and scale-up / scale-out systems.
  • Ability to define system-level features and drive cross-functional implementation across hardware, firmware, and software teams.
  • Proven experience working directly with customers and product teams to define requirements for datacenter deployments.
  • Willingness to work in international, multi-site teams and communicate architectural tradeoffs clearly.
  • Preferred: knowledge of PCIe virtualization features (SR-IOV, SIOV, IDE, TDISP), Ethernet error recovery/virtualization, and participation or familiarity with confidentiality forums/standards.

Education Requirements

Posting references Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields. The posting lists multiple experience/degree combinations (e.g., Bachelor's + ~4 years; Master's + ~3 years or Master's + 8+ years in another section; PhD + ~2 years) and allows equivalent practical experience. In short: degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience as specified.
