Job Title

Senior Staff Reliability Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Reliability Engineering team within Marvell Quality focused on reliability/qualification, reliability testing, supplier enablement and risk analysis for semiconductor products across data center, enterprise and carrier lines.

Primary mission: define and execute product qualification strategies and reliability testing to ensure product robustness through design, vendor qualification, and failure analysis.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience: 5–10 years of related industry experience; candidates with an advanced degree may qualify with 3–5 years.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning and executing product qualification and reliability programs.

  • Define qualification strategy and prepare qualification plans for new products and processes.
  • Build and manage product qualification schedules and provide status updates.
  • Specify and coordinate design and delivery of qualification hardware (HTOL, HAST boards, burn-in fixtures) with labs and internal teams.
  • Drive execution of HTOL, HAST and other reliability tests; ensure robust, error-free test runs.
  • Manage reliability suppliers/subcontractors and support vendor qualification and changes in design/manufacturing/materials.
  • Lead failure analysis activities and produce product qualification reports and documentation.
  • Support customer quality and reliability information requests.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance.

  • 5–10 years relevant industry experience (or 3–5 years with an advanced degree); specific semiconductor reliability/qualification experience preferred.
  • 3+ years experience in product qualification and reliability testing for semiconductor products.
  • Proven experience developing high-power HTOL and production burn-in for wafer/package-level advanced-node products.
  • Hands-on experience with HTOL setup, stress pattern bring-up, execution of testing, and test hardware design.
  • Demonstrable IC reliability testing knowledge (HTOL, environmental stress, ESD/LU testing, SER, PIC testing).
  • Familiarity with semiconductor fab and packaging processes, packaging technologies, and qualification project planning/scheduling.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards and stress methodologies (JEDEC, AEC, Telcordia; HTOL, HAST, TC, HTS, ESD, LU).
  • Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to work independently and with teams.
  • Experience managing vendors and subcontractors for reliability testing.
  • Preferred: experience with statistical reliability data analysis tools (JMP, ReliaSoft, Minitab), FMEA/risk assessment, advanced-node MCMs and advanced packaging, lifetime modeling, and reliability HW setups for life and environmental stresses.
  • Note: role may require eligibility for access to export-controlled technology and information.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred) with 5–10 years of experience; or a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 3–5 years of experience. Equivalent practical experience in semiconductor reliability/qualification is also considered.
