Senior/Staff Quality and Reliability Assurance Engineer - High Bandwidth Memory
Role Summary
The Senior/Staff PQRA engineer will lead reliability qualification and quality monitoring for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products. The role works with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to define qualification requirements, perform risk assessments, and drive corrective actions to meet product reliability and quality targets.
The position focuses on establishing reliability metrics and test methods, investigating failures, and supporting production and customer-related reliability issues.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Role requires 5+ years of experience in the semiconductor field (see Requirements for details).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include qualifying new HBM products, developing reliability methodology and metrics, maintaining product quality requirements, and supporting internal customer and manufacturing investigations.
- Define and review HBM qualification requirements; authorize qualification sign-off and release decisions.
- Perform risk assessments and review qualification data to ensure requirements are met.
- Develop and improve product reliability tests and methods to identify new failure mechanisms.
- Establish reliability targets, metrics (DPM, FIT, Lifetime), and specification improvements.
- Monitor product quality metrics, assess deviations, perform data mining and correlation of inline test data, and drive corrective/preventive actions.
- Support RMA analysis, investigate returned material and manufacturing history, and recommend manufacturing-level corrective actions.
- Communicate issues, corrective actions, and release/acceptance criteria across teams and products.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by preferred skills.

Must-have: 5+ years experience in the semiconductor industry.

Must-have: Knowledge of DRAM operation, fabrication processes, and semiconductor device physics.

Must-have: Familiarity with advanced packaging concepts, wafer/component/module testing flows.

Must-have: Strong troubleshooting, organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective written and oral communication.

Must-have: Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Preferred: Experience with statistical tools (e.g., JMP) and familiarity with Unix, DFII/Cadence, and ATE (automatic test equipment).

Preferred: Familiarity with scripting/programming (Perl, C++, Python, HTML, CGI, Java).

Preferred: Prior engineering experience in Product Engineering, Product Quality and Reliability, Process Integration, or Yield Enhancement.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering. Desired: Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
